Dinah Wakefield has been painting for more than 15 years and over this time her paintings have evolved from gestural and textural expressions to intense fields of colour and texture. Currently her work is vibrantly earthy in both colour and form with reds, oranges, ochres, white and black dominating her palette. References to the Australian landscape are strong, albeit abstracted. Her paintings are an emotive reflection of the Australian land in light, colour and simple form.
